What is an SBI Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan)?

In this context, the SBI life certificate refers to the Jeevan Pramaan Patra. This certificate is to be submitted to the bank by the pensioners to ensure continuity of their pension. Traditionally, the pensioners had to submit the certificate physically at their bank’s branch, but with the advancements in information and technology, the pensioner can perform the required formalities from the comfort of their homes.

Options Available for the Pensioner to Submit their Life certificate

Step 1 – Submission of Life Certificate at SBI Bank Branch (Digital)

To submit the life certificate digitally, the pensioner will have to visit any branch of SBI and provide the following documents and details:

  • Aadhar number
  • Mobile number
  • Pension Payment order
  • Account number
  • Fingerprint (biometrics will be recorded).

On successfully providing the aforementioned documents, Jeevan Pramaan will be generated. The acknowledgment is number is the unique ID and it is referred to as the Pramaan ID.

Step 2 – Submission of Life Certificate through Jeevan Pramaan Portal using personal computer/ mobile devices

The pensioner can register themselves at https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/ and submit their life certificate online without ever stepping outside their home. The process for submitting the certificate is relatively easy and straightforward.

Step 3 – Submission of Life Certificate through GoI UMANG App

Pensioners can download the UMANG App from Google Play Store. Once inside the app, they will have to search for the Jeevan Pramaan option and then proceed with the “Generate Life Certificate” option. The pensioner will then be required to fill in relevant details for the process to continue and generate the digital life certificate

Step 4 – Submission of Life Certificate through CSC (Citizen Service Centre)

Pensioners can visit their nearest Aadhar Seva Kendra or CSC and provide the following details – Aadhar number, mobile number, Pension Payment order, and account number. Next, the pensioner’s fingerprints will be recorded as biometric evidence. On successfully completing the registration process, an acknowledgment will be generated, and this will serve as the Pramaan ID.

SBI Home Loan Provisional Interest Certificate

SBI now offers home loan borrowers the provision to download their Interest certificates for their home loans. This can be done as follows:

  • Visit www.onlinesbi.com/personal/
  • Log in to the Personal Banking Section with your credentials
  • Select “Home Loan Int. Cert (Prov)” under the “Enquiries” Section of the header navigation.
  • Next, you will be prompted to select the account for while you require your home loan interest certificate
  • Once the account is selected, you can download or view your SBI Interest certificate.
