Aim Of Objectives:

The main learning objective of this course is to prepare the students for:

  • Performing heat treatment operations on the plain carbon steels.
  • Interpreting the effect of quenching media and tempering temperature and time on the hardness of the steels.
  • Enhancing the case hardness of the low carbon steels by carburizing treatment.
  • Measuring the case depth of the case-hardened steels.
  • Identifying the suitable heat treatment for non-ferrous materials.
