- Kurichya revolt was a tribal insurgency against the British. It was organised by the Kurichya and Kurumba tribes of Wayanad in 1812.
Reasons of this revolt: - Imposition of excessive tax by the British

- The revolt was led by the Kurichya leader Raman Nambi
- Several people other than the tribes also joined the struggle
