If You Could Meet Anyone In History, Who Would It Be Essay: There are countless influential people from history – from Leonardo da Vinci, Abraham Lincoln, Galileo Galilei, and Albert Einstein to Steve Jobs, Marilyn Monroe and Mahatma Gandhi. Who would you want to meet? Would it be a celebrity or an icon from history? This question is almost impossible to answer as everybody has their own opinion. Even if you’re just having a conversation with yourself, the answer will be different each day. However, since the essay focuses on my personal opinion, the criteria for this list can be narrowed down based on a few key factors that I consider important.
First, the person has to have affected other people’s lives in some positive way. Second, that individual has to have had a significant impact in a field of study or made some contribution to culture, arts or society. Even with all these criteria in place, it can be hard to pick just one. Moreover, there are countless people in history who have fallen into obscurity, but their deeds and principles have echoed in the hearts and minds of many.
One such person is Harriet Tubman – a fascinating woman activist who was born a slave, but escaped and became an abolitionist. Her bravery and determination led her to be the person responsible for most of the Underground Railroad. In 1845, Tubman escaped from slavery in Maryland. She then made her way to Philadelphia and lived in the city for a number of years. After the Civil War, Tubman helped to liberate tens of thousands of slaves through the Underground Railroad.
Lucille Ball – Lucille Désirée Ball was an American actress, model, comedian and producer. She was best known for her role as Lucy Ricardo on the television show I Love Lucy. Lucille Ball was born in Jamestown, New York on August 6, 1911. Lucille’s parents had instilled a strong work ethic into her, and she was determined to do well in school. “I couldn’t wait to leave school because I wanted to make money,” said Lucille. She was also a pioneer for women in the entertainment business, often breaking barriers and glass ceilings. It is often said that she was one of the most influential stars in Hollywood. Her career spanned six decades and she became one of the best-known actresses in American television.
Marie Curie – Marie Salomea Skłodowska Curie was a pioneer in the field of radioactivity. She was also an amazing woman who accomplished many things in her lifetime. She was also the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, and the only person to win it in two different fields. Her work has had a profound impact on the world. It began with the discovery of radium and polonium, two elements crucial to the development of x-ray technology. The societal impacts of their discoveries include the invention of PET scans, which allows doctors to diagnose cancerous cells in our bodies. Her perseverance as a scientist is an important lesson in history for people of all backgrounds and is often cited as an example of how women can be successful in science.
Vincent van Gogh – Vincent Willem van Gogh was a post-impressionist painter who became one of the most influential and famous figures in the history of Western art. He is known for painting pictures that were often emotional and had a strong effect on other artists. Vincent lived during a time when the Impressionism art movement was being established, with artists like Claude Monet and Edgar Degas. He had a strong effect on other artists mainly because his paintings have a unique style. Impressionism is characterized by paintings that are done on large canvases, which often lack sharp delineation between colors and tones. Some of his most iconic works include “Starry Night” and “The Starry Night Over the Rhone.” A common theme in his paintings is the heavy brushstrokes and dark color palette.
Nelson Mandela – Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a South African activist and politician who played a key role in ending apartheid in his country. He was the first black president of South Africa and served as president from 1994 to 1999. He was also a Nobel Peace Prize recipient and the recipient of other notable awards such as the US Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Libyan Al-Gaddafi International Prize for Human Rights and the Indian Bharat Ratna. Moreover, he is known for his efforts to end apartheid in his country and reconcile with its former colonial power, Great Britain. Today, Nelson Mandela is an icon and a hero and is revered for his moral courage and commitment to justice.
Walt Disney – Walter Elias Disney was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor and animator. He is one of the most well-known and influential figures in the world of entertainment. He is also the founder of Walt Disney Studios, now known as Disney Studios. The studio has produced such films as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), Pinocchio (1940), Fantasia (1940) and Bambi (1942). However, he is best known for the creation of Mickey Mouse – one of the most recognisable cartoon characters in the world and also the mascot of The Walt Disney Company. Walt Disney also developed new technologies that changed the process of movie-making and inspired countless generations of children to reach for their dreams.
Steve Jobs – Steven Paul Jobs was the founder, chairman and CEO of Apple Inc. He is widely recognized as a visionary pioneer of the personal computer revolution. Steve Jobs was born on February 24th, 1955 in San Francisco, California. He attended Reed College in Oregon for a short time before dropping out to work with Atari and later founded Apple. . What set him apart from other visionaries is that he was able to take risks and create something completely new. He was also not afraid of failure and would change course when necessary. His life story is a remarkable example of innovation and creativity. Steve Jobs was also a visionary for many reasons, from his revolutionary contributions to the personal computer and smartphone industries to his insight into human behavior.
From his childhood in Silicon Valley, to founding one of the most iconic companies in the world, Jobs’ life is a real example of an American Dream come true. People from history are often looked at with curiosity and admiration. They have accomplished great feats, in spite of many difficulties and hurdles. They had to think of creative solutions and also took risks that helped change the world. In conclusion, these would be the people I would meet again if I was given the opportunity to do so.
