The Red Fort has many beautiful buildings. The king used to meet the public in the Diwan-i-am which is a beautiful decorated chamber. The king used to hold important meetings in the Diwan-i-khas. It was in this chamber that the famous Peacock Throne stood. It was stolen by Nadir Shah, who took it away to Iran.
Beyond this chamber lie the private quarters. All entertainment programmes used to take place in the Rang Mahal, which is one major attraction. The Moti Mahal, or the Pearl Mosque is located next to it.
The Shah Burj and the War Museum are other attractions for tourists. At the entrance of the fort, is located the famous Meena Bazaar. One can buy various decorative items and artifacts from here.
