Debate on Criminals are Wicked and Deserve Punishment | Debate on Favour of Criminals are Wicked and Deserve Punishment

Debate on Criminals are Wicked and Deserve Punishment: Good Morning respected jury members, respected teachers, my worthy opponents, and my dear friends.

Today, I _____feel privileged to speak in front of such a knowledgeable audience and express my opinion on a very important debatable topic-‘Criminals are wicked and deserve punishment. I will now speak in favor of this motion.

At the beginning of this debate on criminals are wicked and deserve punishment, I strongly support that those who are identified as criminals in the eye of law must be given punishment as per the law. The Judiciary system is established to protect the people of the country against injustice and criminal offense. They must convict and punish the individuals who violate the law for personal gain and make others suffer the loss.

Today’s life is not very easy and there are complications at different stages of life. One can face lots of hurdles to maintain a decent life. Countries with huge populations with diverse socio-economic structures can have restricted opportunities for some sections of people. But it doesn’t mean that a person will choose some unfair means of earning to ensure a comfortable life. Life always provides opportunities; maybe all are not easy or smooth. Every difficult phase of life requires time and patience to overcome, but failure and frustrations should not be a justification for criminal activities. Most of the time individuals are involved in criminal activities deliberately, knowing full well about the consequences. So they can be considered wicked and deserve punishment.

In this debate on criminals are wicked and deserve punishment, my worthy opponent can easily say that situations compel a person to be a criminal. But I would like to point out the fact that no one is born as a criminal and becomes a criminal by choice not by chance. People having a wicked mindset can turn out to be criminals easily. They can easily think about causing harm to others for their interest. They take the steps deliberately which are punishable under law. Every day we come across news of criminal activities related to political, commercial, medical, and other parts of society.

The most important thing to keep in mind during this debate on criminals are wicked and deserve punishment because nobody has the right to exploit or harm others in illegal ways. There are legal procedures and rules which all should follow. It is the right and responsibility of the concerned authority to take care of any violations and provide justice. No one is above law. So any criminal offense has to be dealt with strong actions as per rules permissible by law.

We must focus our attention in the debate on criminals are wicked and deserve punishment, to the fact that a criminal doesn’t work individually but tries to form groups involving other people who can work in his favor. This is extreme wickedness to exploit and provoke others and indulge them in criminal activities. Often a leader with a criminal mindset allures young boys by taking advantage of their situation and forces them to involve themselves in illegal activities. In this way, he remains in the background, away from the law but puts others’ lives at risk.

A criminal uses weapons like hatred and religious sentiments to spread anger and violence in society. Sometimes a well-planned criminal activity leads to the loss of life and property of many innocent people. This is a clear indication of how wicked these people are and has to be punished by law.

Surprisingly, as we can see through this debate on criminals are wicked and deserve punishment, money is not the only motivating factor to engage in illegal activities. The hunger for power and positions also makes them involved and support criminal activities. They don’t hesitate to take illegal means to remove any obstacles in their journey towards power and position. They never expose their real image but secretly join hands with criminals to get their work done. Just imagine how wicked such people are, wearing facets of honesty but carrying a dagger under their cloak to stab you!

In some parts of India especially in rural areas, the male-dominated structure of society is followed very aggressively. This result is criminal activities against women. Most of them are not reported and do not get justice by law. But we have to keep in mind that such acts of violence against women need to be addressed seriously by the judiciary and persons responsible for these should be given severe punishment.

But here lies a problem which I want to highlight in this debate on criminals are wicked and deserve punishment. The social structure of the country doesn’t give equal opportunities and access to the law to all who want to have justice against criminal activities. So any such criminal offenses whenever reported must be addressed with priority. Strict punishment should be imposed upon the criminals so that common people don’t lose faith in the judiciary system.

I again strongly support the motion in the debate on criminals are wicked and deserve punishment because every day we get to know about domestic violence which is nothing but a criminal offense in some way or other. The Dowry system is an age-old black spot in our society. Despite laws being implemented against dowry, many people still find it a custom to give and accept dowry. This is nothing but demanding money from the bride’s family for the safety and security of their daughter after marriage. Unfortunately, the greed of these people is endless and they indulge in violent acts to pressurize the bride’s family demanding more money or wealth. Sometimes it leads to killing or suicide which is very shocking. Such people are so wicked and inhuman but still many of them escape from the grip of law due absence of strict laws. There has to be some exemplary punishment for such criminal activities.

The strange fact that arises during this debate on criminals are wicked and deserve punishment is that many of the so-called ‘elite’ people of society are sometimes involved in criminal activities which impacts the society and economy on a larger scale. The businessmen or religious leaders (Gurus) accumulate wealth by cheating common people who rely on them. The criminal activities range from money laundering to physical exploitation, under the disguise of helping needy people. They are the wicked and treacherous people of the country who have no sensitivity as humans and need to be punished accordingly.

As per saying, punishment is always against the crime, not the criminal. Punishment makes people aware of the consequences of the act and sets examples of how the judiciary deals with such offenses.
